What real time tracing does for you is it highlights the exact points (ie mapping) within the chip that are being accessed at a given time. *If* you know the conditions of the burn you can adjust that point to near perfection. You then go through the entire map perfecting each point = near perfect chip. This has been done in Japan for a long time but is still relatively new in the US. In fact I can only think of a few places in the US that have dropped enough money on tuning equipment to be able to do this.
